Horse Rectification and Retraining Plan

At La Corona Equine Residence, we work on the correction and training of your horse. An individualised technical plan designed to restore its physical, biomechanical and emotional balance, so you can enjoy equestrian sport again.

Plans for correcting inappropriate behaviour in horses and physical and postural recovery training

This situation may sound familiar to you.

That moment when you are told that your horse is no longer progressing, that they are “stuck” or even “not suited” to equestrian sport and riding, and that perhaps the best option would be retirement.

And yet, deep down, you know that your horse still has plenty of life, energy and experiences to enjoy with you, both in riding and sport, if given the right training or corrective work.

Your horse’s behaviour is important not only for their physical and mental health, but also for strengthening or even restoring your relationship with them. Over the years, our equine companions can develop bad habits that may affect their health, both physically and mentally, and, in turn, our relationship with them.

Plan de rectificación

At La Corona Equine Residence, we often work with horses facing these problems. And they almost always stem from very specific causes:

– Horses with postural imbalances that have accumulated over time.

– Emotional overload following demanding, traumatic experiences or situations poorly suited to the horse’s temperament or physical condition.

– The need for individualised technical work that respects their history and their own pace.

We can help redirect your horse through training and corrective work

This is why our Horse and Young Horse Correction and Training Plan is designed to help them regain balance, strength, comfort in movement and a calmer, more confident attitude.

We replace previous experiences that have led to rejection of equestrian activity and behavioural problems with new patterns of acceptance, enjoyment and connection with their owner.

For this purpose, life at La Corona Equine Residence plays an important role.

Living in a herd, relationships with other horses and freedom of action and movement make a significant difference. Added to this are the beautiful natural surroundings and the kind, caring daily attention provided by La Corona’s team of equine professionals. Together, these elements allow the horse to undergo a genuine emotional and physical “reset” and, as a result, become much more receptive to new approaches to handling and training.

To date, the result has been clear: 100% of the horses that have completed our plan have returned to sporting activity. A resounding success in correcting behaviour and training the horses that have come to us.

If you feel that you and your horse still have plenty to enjoy together, La Corona is the right place to make that possible, as within a few months you and your horse can once again enjoy equestrian sport and riding together.

Answers to questions you may have about your horse’s correction and equine training

Your peace of mind and your horse’s well-being go hand in hand

How do I know if my horse needs a correction or training plan?

Perhaps the signs are very clear, or perhaps you are overlooking them without realising it.
It may be worth considering this option when your horse stops progressing, shows resistance to training, displays changes in attitude while being ridden, or experiences physical, technical or emotional difficulties that affect their performance and well-being.

What is a horse correction and training plan?

It is an individualised work plan for horses experiencing physical, technical, emotional or behavioural difficulties related to equestrian activity. The aim is to progressively restore their balance, comfort, confidence and willingness to return to sporting activity.

Which horses is the correction plan suitable for?

It is particularly suitable for horses that have become stuck in their training, have developed resistance to certain equestrian practices or show physical imbalances, movement difficulties or emotional overload.

Does the training also address the horse’s emotional state?

Yes. Emotional well-being plays an important role in the process. Living with other horses, free movement, the natural environment and respectful care are all part of everyday life at La Corona and help create a positive setting for training.

Can the horse return to sport after completing the plan?

The aim of the plan is to help the horse progressively rebuild a positive relationship with equestrian activity and enjoy sport again. At La Corona, to date, 100% of the horses that have completed the correction plan have returned to sporting activity.
