Horse Rectification and Retraining Plan
At La Corona we work on the rectification and retraining of your horse. An individualized technical plan to restore its physical, biomechanical and emotional balance so you can enjoy equestrian sport again.
This situation may sound familiar.
That moment when you are told your horse is no longer progressing, that they are “stuck” or even “not suitable” for equestrian sport and riding—and that perhaps the best option would be retirement.
And yet, deep down, you know there is still plenty of life, energy and enjoyment left to share together, in riding and in sport, if the right approach is applied.
At La Corona Residencia Equina, we see these cases often. And they almost always respond to very specific causes:
– Postural imbalances that have accumulated over time.
– Emotional overload after demanding experiences or work that was not suited to the horse’s character.
– The need for individualised technical work that respects their history and natural rhythm.
The good news is that all of this can be redirected.
That is why our Horse Rectification and Retraining Plan is designed to help the horse regain balance, strength, comfort in movement and a calmer, more confident attitude.
We replace past experiences—those that led to rejection of equestrian practice—with new patterns of acceptance and enjoyment.
For this purpose, life at La Corona plays a key role.
Living in a herd, interacting with other horses, and enjoying freedom of movement make a real difference. Added to this is the exceptional natural environment and the team’s daily, kind and attentive care. All of this allows the horse to undergo a genuine emotional and physical “reset” and, as a result, to be far more receptive to new forms of handling and training.
To date, the outcome has been clear: 100% of the horses that have completed our plan have returned to their sporting activity.
If you feel that there is still much for you and your horse to enjoy together, La Corona is the right place to make that happen. Within a few months, both you and your horse can once again enjoy equestrian sport and riding.
Phases of the Horse Rectification and Retraining Plan
1. Gathering the horse’s background information
We collect all relevant information: clinical history, sporting background, previous routines, caretakers, veterinarian, farrier and any professionals involved. The better we understand the horse’s past, the more precise the plan will be.
2. Observation and first contact
We take time to observe how the horse moves, how they respond to their environment and which physical or emotional patterns are present. This phase helps us identify compensations, blockages, tensions and real needs before beginning any work.
3. Plan design
With all the information gathered, we design a plan tailored to the individual case: adapted physical work, corrective exercises, progressive strengthening and emotional balance guidelines. Everything is adjusted to the horse’s age, current condition, character and recovery goals.
4. Implementation and follow-up
We put the plan into action and carry out continuous monitoring to adjust workload, timing and exercises. Progress is tracked so the horse advances safely, steadily and sustainably over time.
